To the editor:
The Izaak Walton League is concerned about the adverse impact of the Alpine Slide on Rappahannock County. We have written a letter (copy below) to the County Board of Supervisors expressing our concern about the validity of the building permit for this commercial venture.
Strict adherence to county ordinances and procedure is essential. We commend the Board of its continuing thorough approach to the Goode property rezoning. Despite last Thursday’s arguments that approval should be granted because Mr. Goode was “90 per cent in compliance” with county ordinances, the Board voted to study the material placed before its members before taking action.
We wholeheartedly agree. Shipshod approval of partial compliance could quickly destroy an ordinance and
