Workshop
A workshop in environmental and energy education for elementary teachers will be held in Shenandoah National Park on April 28. According to Superintendent Robert R. Jacobsen, the workshop is designed to familiarize teachers with the resources available in the Park, and to assist them in developing programs for elementary students in environmental awareness and energy dynamics.
The session will be held at the Harry F. Byrd Visitor Center at Big Meadows (Milepost 51) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interested teachers or principals may contact the Assistant Chief Park Naturalist at Shenandoah National Park (999-2243, ext. 39 or 43) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants must make reservations by April 16. Applications are being mailed to area elementary school principals.
