In light of the “degree of accuracy” imposed on Goode, Luke continued, all subdivisions—including those with five lots or less that are approved administratively—will be required to have two foot contour maps checked by the county engineer for compliance with regulations on slope. “That’s what we’re leading to,” he said.
Goode has had to meet a “tighter compliance rule than we’ve applied to other parcels and lots,” Luke noted. “There’s not one thing that (the planning commissioners) have asked him to do or redo that he hasn’t ddne,” the supervisor chairman added.
“With 90 per cent compliance, why not go all the way and get 100 per cent? Then there wouldn’t be any controversy,” countered supervisor H. B. Wood. “I haven’t had time to even see this yet,” said Wood, referring to Goode’s amended plan.
Supervisor Clarence Baldwin asked what the planning commissioners had to say regarding the revised proposal.
“It’s not up to them. It’s up to us,” said Luke. “We’ve got to fish or cut bait.”
