Butler
Mrs. Lillie Hawkins Butler, 76, of Woodville died Thursday, April 5, 1979 at the Fairfax Hospital after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Saturday at Clore Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. William C. Lancaster. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Winston Sibert of Warrenton; three sons, Charles W. Butler of Woodville, Lewis A. Butler of McLean and Edward A. Butler of Bristol; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph R. Hawkins of Boston and Mrs. Dan R. Aylor of M adison.; one brother, Jesse W. Hawkins of Boston; eleven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the Mt. I^ebenon Baptist Church. She was the widow of Amos N. Butler, and the daughter of the late William and Mary Mitchells Hawkins.
Pallbearers were Joel Dazcewitz, Burton Orange, Joe Hawkins, Wayne Butler, Edmond Burke and John Sibert.
Funeral services for Ellis Philip Brown of Culpeper were held Friday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Mr. Brown, 96, died Wednesday, April 4, 1979 at Somerset. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late James Gabe Brown and the late Virginia Catherine Jenkins. His wife was the late Anna Laura Brown. He was a retired farmer and a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Dodson of Culpeper; two sons, Wilton Floyd Brown, of Culpeper and William H. Brown of Petersburg; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
