The Chester Gap Ruritan Club held its monthly membership meeting on Thursday night with 12 members present. There was a delicious dinner served by the ladies of the Chester Gap, Baptist Church. Delegate George Beard, Jr. of Culpeper spoke to the club on the procedures and some of the bills in the General Assembly. The membership approved several requests from the board of directors. 1. The Human Development Committee would take care of any emergency that should occur in the community. 2. There will be a chicken barbecue in July. 3. There will be a publicized clean up program in the community. 4. There will be a membership drive for the coming months. 5. The Club will present a fifty dollar scholarship to the most deserving graduate of the local high school from the community who is going to continue his or her education. The Club would like to thank all the members and non members who participated in the roadside clean up in the community on April 1.
