Board
George E. Muth of Rappahannock county was re-elected to serve as ViceChairman of the Board of Culpeper Memorial Hospital at the Annual Meeting held on evening of April 6th. Mr. Muth has served as a board member for Culpeper Memorial Hospital since 1974.
Other officers elected were: Chairman, Giles H. Miller, Jr., who replaces Garland R. Steger, Jr., retiring Board Chairman; Lee A. Rhoades, Treasurer; and Alfred B. Cramer, III, M.D., re-elected as Secretary.
The Culpeper Memorial Hospital is governed by a Board of Trustees, composed of representatives from surrounding communities. Board members are elected by the corporate membership at the annual meeting each year. The hospital acquired new members John A. Eckel, Lake of the Woods, and Dr. W. L. Howse, III, and Earl Johnston, both of Culpeper. Retiring members of the Board who have served since 1973 were David S. Scott, W. Robert Jebson, and J. Goodwin Moore.
This year’s Annual Meeting was highlighted with annual reports by Mr. Steger, Dr. Harold Markham of the Medical Staff, Mrs. Edyth Weaver, President of the Auxiliary, and Bill Gravely, Jr., President and Administrator. A slide-tape feature on cost containment was shown, and tours of the areas recently renovated concluded the meeting.
