Bennett assured the BZA members that he and Butler fully intended to landscape the lot further but had not done so because they didn’t yet own the three and a half acres. He added that they’d also looked at locations in Sperryville for the used car lot and had selected the current site because it already had commercial zoning.
“I think he’s entitled to his permit,” said BZA member Pete Estes. “The only problem is thrashing out restrictions on what can be sold.” After some discussion, the BZA unanimously approved issuance of a special use permit to Bennett and Butler for sales of operable used passenger vehicles, light trucks and motorcycles.
