Competition
Frances Conover of Albany, Ga. is among the four finalists at the Albany Area Vocational-Technical School in the 1979 Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership (GOAL) program. Frances, a graphic arts student at the school and the only deaf student, is the daughter of Mrs. Downing (Alice R.) Wood of Washington.
One of the four finalists will be selected the school’s winner later this month and will compete in May for the state title. Students are nominated by the instructors and finalists are selected after a committee examines such areas as grades, character, leadership abilities, personal goals, enthusiasm and attendance.
