vm election aay, luesday, November 6, polls in Rappahannock will open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters may cast ballots at polling places in each of the county’s five magisterial districts:
Jackson—Amissville fire house on Route 211,
Piedmont—Sperryville fire house on Route 211,
Hampton — County courthouse in the town of Washington,
Stonewall-Hawthorne —Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church on Route 522 at Scrabble,
Wakefield—Flint Hill fire hall on Fodderstack Road and fire hall in Chester Gap.
In countywide races, voters will choose between incumbent William A. Buntin and challengers John Walker Jenkins and Marshall Corbin for sheriff; Douglas Baumbardner and Peter Luke for commonwealth attorney and Marilyn Bailey, Ruth Grimsley and current deputy commissioner Merle Scoggin for commissioner of revenue. County treasurer Frances Foster is unopposed.
In the contest for delegate to the Virginia General Assembly from the 25th district, Republican incumbent George Beard will face Independent Robert Wilson Murphy. Local Democrats opted not to field a candidate against Beard who is seeking his second term in the House of Delegates.
