A Vietnam prisoner of war, Capt. Eugene McDaniel, USN. will speak at the morning worship, 11 a.m., at the Amissville Baptist Church on Sunday, November 4. He was shot down May 19, 1967 and was a prisoner for six years.
McDaniel is the author of a book, “Before Honor”, telling of his and his fellow prisoners struggle to survive the torture and imprisonment. He was a native of Kinston, N. C. and a graduate of Elon College in Burlington, N. C. He now lives with his family, two sons and a daughter, in Alexandria.
