The contract on Chester Gap road improvements has been awarded to R. L. Rider and Company of Warrenton (for a low bid of $189,055, according to an announcement from the Virginia Department of Highways and Transporation.
The Chester Gap project was among 25 contracts totaling $9.7 million approved on the basis of low bids received in September. Under the contract. Rider will grade, drain and pave 0.4-of-a-mile of two-lane secondary roadway 610 to improve alignment between US 522 and Secondary 660 at Chester Gap Post Office.
