Gordon has always maintained other employment to help fortify his income. He served with the Virginia Artificial Breeding Association for ten years and has been employed at the Sperryville branch of the Culpeper Farmers’ Cooperative since 1%1. He is presently manager of that
store so he has an opportunity to advise others on good soil conservation and management techniques. Gordon is a deacon and Sunday School superintendent of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and is president of the Rappahannock Farm Bureau. He is a member of Fairfax Lodge, No. 5, Knights Temple, Royal Arch No. 13 Chapter No. 25 in Culpeper, and Past Master of Washington Lodge No. 78.
Mrs. Thornhill is the former Sally Frances Coates of Madison and in addition to their two sons, they have a daughter, Melanie.
