The KVG club had a meeting last Thursday. Two men from the park service came to speak to the members. This club is oranized to help in any fire emergency. A film was also shown to help illustrate important points. The next meting will have the members doing actual fire preparation work.

The Washington library recently paid a visit to our high school and brought books for the students to check out. They will be bringing books every Wednesday. The NHS members are in charge of this. The books can be seen during each lunch shift.

The SCA hs made a big calender for the school’s use. It is posted on the bulletin board in the hall. It tells of the daily occurence that are taking place.

The Juniors had a successful bake sale day Saturday. Their stands were set up in Rappahannock, Culpeper and Front Royal.

The English classes had a very enjoyable day at Wayside Theater, October 26. The play proved to a very educational experience.

The money raised from the NHS cake raffles goes toward a trip to the Kennedy Center in the spring. Members went last year and had a great time. The NHS is also publishing a program for the girls’ basketball game Tuesday night. The program will publish the girls names on the two teams, names of the cheerleaders and other game information.

The girls will have their last game tonight, November 1. They will be playing Strasburg. The game will be home and your support will be appreciated.

Recently the cross country team participated in the Skyline District meet. There were 52 runners competing. The following are the placements of the Rappahannock team: Ron Dougherty-17th, Jimmy Tomko-28th, Brian Fitzek29th, Don Dougherty-31 st, and Anne Thomas-45th.
