Williams continued that he'd added just a small amount of coal on Thursday and had stayed at the boiler room after the furnace was fired.
"All of Thursday’s problems were caused by no water in the pipes—not too much coal,” Clatterbuck stated. He also noted that the danger of an accident had been greater on Wednesday than in Thursday’s emergency.
