Most pre-adolescent horse fanatics switch their interests to boys once they hit their teens. The “Buy me a horse, oh please, oh please, buy me a horse” refrain changes to “Mom, I need a new dress for the dance this weekend.” Only a few hang on, picking saddlesoap over perfume, stable boots over high heels and jodphurs or bluejeans over tailored slacks. Millie Cebula was one of the horseloving hold-outs.
She married, devoted time to raising a family and began her restaurant business with a snack-bar that she operated in Manassas for 17 years. But she never found the cure for the horse bug that bit her as a kid.
