No Logic

To the editor:

With regard to the letter of Mr. Robert W. Eastham (OpEd 5-8-80), it appears to be a delibertate attempt to obscure the real issues involved in the June 17th referendum on the method of selection of the school board. I fail to find any logic in his contention that a yes vote will make our children ‘‘political footballs”. This is pure unreasoned nonsense. A yes vote will ensure that all citizens have an opportunity through their elected representative to have a voice in the selection of the school board member from their district. If as Mr. Eastham states 75 percent of our tax dollars are used to support the educational system, then the present system is surely taxation without representation.
