Charged with food stamp fraud. Ruby Pullen of Sperryville pled guilty in general district court on Tuesday and received a $100 fine and costs and a 30-day suspended jail sentence.
In addition, the plea bargain reached with the commonwealth's attorney at the request of the Rappahannock County Welfare Department requires Mrs. Pullen to make full restitution for the $142 worth of fraudulently obtained food stamps and prohibits her from receiving food stamp benefits in Rappahannock County for two years.
Similiar food stamp fraud charges against her husband. Frank Pullen, who is currently on probation, were dropped.
