A selection of 18th and 19th century prints from the Belmont collection will be exhibited during July in the studio at Belmont, The Gari Melchers Memorial Gallery in Falmouth.
The exhibit will be made up of three widely varying art} forms—the Japanese wood block print, lithograph posters by the famous French artist Toulouse-Lautrec, and 18th century French steel engravings.
The Japanese prints are part of a collection of about 35 which were purchased by Mr. or Mrs. Melchers in Paris sometime after 1900. The prints themselves are dated between the late 18th and late 19th centuries, and are works representative of the well known Japanese artists of this period.

Club Loses
To Middleburg
The Rapphannock Polo Club sent a quartet to Middleburg on Sunday and came home on the bottom of the 8-2 score.
The game was a fast one despite a hard, dusty field that made the ball take numerous unpredictable bounces.
Middleburg took charge early in the game and only allowed the visitors to get on the scoreboard late in the third period, leaving it 5-1 at the half. Rappahannock tallied again after the break, but by then their hosts were out of reach.
Dave Goodman led Middleburg with four points in his best game ever, while Roger Reinhardt and Castleton’s Chet Fannon, supported by father Billy, did the scoring for the visitors. Hap Puelicher, rated at five goals and the area's best player, refereed the match.
