The Town’s water is tested regularly by the state to insure its purity. The polluted wells referred to in the letter would be private wells, not public water.
The cloudy water discussed is caused by sediment in the pipes that is stirred up by a rapid flow of water through the pipes when a fire hydrant is opened.
This letter is intended ONLY to inform the residents of Washington so as not to create a problem that does not exist.
