The bride's formal gown of chiffon knit was made with a stand-up collar of reembroidered Alencon lace and sheer yoke with Schiffli embroidery trim. The bodice was trimmed in matching lace and the long, fitted sleeves were enhanced with Alencon lace motifs. The full skirt extended to a chapel train. Her short bouffant veil of illusion was held by a Juliet cap of Venise lace accented with crystals and bands of blue ribbon. She carried a nosegay of blue carnations and white daisies.
Mrs. Karen Niedermier of Virginia Beach was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a floral print princess style gown of polyester sateen and carried a single blue carnation.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kristie Gareis of Ranosn, W. Va., Mrs. Jean McLaughlin of Martinsburg. W. Va.. and Mrs. Margaret Hamilton of Berryville. Their gowns were of ice-blue qiana designed on princess lines with v-neckline. They carried a single blue carnation with baby’s breath and bow.
Curtis Williams of Chester Gap was best man and serving as ushers were Alton Highsmith and Steve McClesky, • both of Blacksburg. and Craig Morris of Front Royal.
The reception followed in the church social hall where a traditional wedding cake graced the bride's table. The bride and groom figures which topped the cake had also been on top of the wedding cake of her parents.
For their wedding trip to Boston, Mass. Mrs. Donaldson chose a red print dress with white jacket.
They will make their home in Staunton.
