Much of her work consists of larger-than-home-sized color murals. Pali’s most recent project was for the National Institute of Health's ambulatory care research facility just constructed in Bethesda. Maryland. She has more of her bright anthems to life and nature on display at 'six other Virginia hospitals. "Hospitals are my pet projects." she said, noting with pride that her photographs can reshape the environment of the traditionally stark and depressing institutions.
Besides modern color photography. Pali is enamored of the images created by antique photographs. She became entranced with this view of old fashioned America after a friend gave her a glass plate collection. With the glass plate method, used from 1850 to 1930, until Eastman Kodak developed film, silver oxide was laid over glass, stuck into a camera and the image printed on a glass plate. she explained. "They're very fragile. To come across one today is so exciting." Pali added.

Bigger Beauty Box
After four years in the little doll-sized cracker box next door to the Rappahannock Clinic. Darlene Moore has moved her beauty parlor to more spacious quarters on Washington Square. Still called the Beauty Box even though it's no longer quite so boxy. Darlene’s new shop gives her plenty of room for a reception area and another hair dressing station.
A part-time beauty parlor operator and full-time mother, her problems with short-notice, evening child care have been eased by the extra room, enough space for Jonathon's play pen and toys in a pinch.
"I couldn’t ask for a nicer business setting. It's just perfect!” Darlene said, showering Dr. Krebser with praise for his painstaking remodeling efforts. "I have plenty of parking, privacy and those beautiful mountains to look at. I missed my little building for maybe 15 minutes," she laughed.
