DC. LINK, principal
of Washington High
School for eight years, resigned to accept a position at Nokesville. In addition to being principal, Mr. Link coached the boys basektball team which seized the district championship in 1944 and were in second place in 46.
A demonstration by Westinghouse took place in Wood Brothers packing house at Flint Hill. Westinghouse home economist demonstrated the use of the electric range and miracle oven. Mac’s place at Washington and Buck Brown’s Highway Garage west of town, were entered an robbed. This is the third time Mac’s place had been entered. Sheriff Critzer believed there were several persons involved in the robbery. Dr. E. W. Brown died at the age of 92 at his home in Washington. He was ' said to be more than a family physician, but a personal friend willing to go and do any time of the day or , night. ( Miss Margaret Compton won the I spelling bee and when given a dictionary as a prize a member in the ' audience said, “Shucks, she could write a dictionary herself. ” '
