Until 1980 - when the “PLEDGE SI.00 A WEEK” Campaign was started. In July it was set up and by the end of the year $1,914.00 was collected. Our goal was to get 100 people signed up, we got % names. Of course not all were able to finish the year, but ALL those dollars really helped! . . The Fire Department - Chester Gap Vol. Fire Dept., Chester Gap, VA; the 96 names - members of the community and the surrounding areas; the results • SI,914.00 that helped to keep our fire department going. And you know what - we’ve started for 1981 and already have 43 names signed up to “PLEDGE SI.00 A WEEK” for this year.
