The Retired Senior Volunteer Program newly underway in Rappahannock County is looking for persons 60 years and over who are willing to share their talents, experience and skills in service to others.
The program offers threefold benefits: to the elderly who are given a chance to remain active and needed, to the community agencies they assist and to persons receiving services.
RSVP’s client agencies include the Rappahannock County Public Schools, the welfare department, county library, health department, Sursum Corda School and Day Care Center and the mental health clinic. The welfare department needs volunteers who will visit shutins and recipients to determine if services provided by the agency are adequate. Sursum Corda wants preschool aides and substitute teachers for the non-profit day care center’s morning shift from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
