Player Reinstated
In executive session with the board were Mr. and Mrs. James Leake, their son Mike, starting center on the RCHS varsity basketball team, attorney Bill Fletcher, and high school principal and v i ce - pr i n ci pa I Dennis Wingfield and John Toth. After an hour and a half in closed meeting, the board voted unanimously to reverse the decision on one student reached the previous Friday by the discipline committee.
On February 13. the discipline committee, chairman Beverly Massie and Nelson Lane, agreed to readmit five students who had been suspended for three days for violation of the school's drug and alcohol policy. The students, one junior varsity and four varsity basketball players, were allegedly involved in a drinking incident that took place February 10 on the return bus trip from Page High School. In addition to the suspension from school, the boys were prohibited from participating in basketball for the remainder of the season.
The school board’s action on Tuesday reinstated Leake on the team.
