Ruritans

Consider

Horse Show

On the agenda for the April 15 meeting of the Amissville Ruritans is discussion of plans to resume the annual horse show the group has sponsored in past years.

At their meeting held March 18 in the Amissville Methodist Church, the Ruritans appointed a committee to begin investigating possibilities for resuming the annual show. Participation in the local show can qualify Rappahannock 4-H’ers to continue on in district horse and pony club competition, according to 4-H leader Jane Narramore.

Pete Davies, commissioner of revenue for Culpeper County, was the guest speaker at the March Ruritan meeting.

Also at the March session, the Ruritans agreed to donate one cord of wood for the Amissville Fire Department’s benefit auction on April 11. In addition, Ruritans brought in old eyeglasses for contribution to the Rappahannock Lions Club.
