Theatregoers in the County can look forward to more good entertainment when RCHS stages “Oklahoma” in May.

“Refugee,” a one-act play performed by Warren County High School students under the direction of Margo Figgins of Sperryville, played to a nearly full house at Mountain Magic Cinema on March 15.
The third in a trilogy of one act plays written and performed by the high school troup that calls itself “Maroon Masque," “Refugee” recently earned the Distinguished Performance Award from the Virginia Forensic Leage. On Sunday, “Refugee’ presented a vision of alienated youth that focused on the tension youngsters feel between trying to be themselves and the attempt to be what everyone else expects them to be.
The performance at Mountain Magic was refreshingly heartfelt and stirring. The young ensemble, trained by Ms. Figgins, had stage presence, dramatic projection, spontaneity of movement and disciplined theatrics rarely found in a high school group.
