Womanless
Beauty Contest
A womanless beauty contest is tentatively scheduled in Chester Gap in the near future if there is sufficient interest of contestants.
All males of ages 4 and up interested in becoming contestants should-' contact Gary A. Williams at 6^58969; Kim Gilkey, 635-5472 or Art Town, 635-7547 by April 3. The number of contestants will determine the pageant date in April.
Orchard Tour
And Meeting
Area fruit growers are invited to join a series of “inorchard” meetings and tours beginning Wednesday, April 1 at Piedmont Farms in Sperryville at 11 a.m. The following week on April 8 the group will tour the R. S. Graves orchard at Syria in Madison County.
Other meetings are April 15 at Alex Sharp’s (L. J. Kilby orchard) Sperryville; April 22, Fred Coppedge, near Criglersville in Madison; April 29, Jerry Jenkins near Sperryville; May 13, Alvin Meadows, Criglersville; May 27, Sam Snead near Sperryville.
Meetings will also be held June 17 and July 15, with places announced at a later date.
