She has also recruited more than 20 ever-changing library board members who help with building projects, children’s Christmas parties, story hours and films, the book review contests which were held to encourage school children to use the public library, staffing, outreach programs for the elderly and the handicapped and publicity.
Although she plans to retire in April, 1982, Mary , JamieSon hasn’t slowed down a bit. Through her efforts, the library recently obtained a SI,000 grant to install railings to make its entrance safe and accessible to the handicapped. In October, she hosted a brunch and book autographing party for the benefit of the library and she just finished putting the final organizational touches on a special evening program scheduled for February.
