Service
Worshipers of all denominations, colors and creeds are invited to participate in a special ecumenical service of thanksgiving at the Flint Hill Methodist Church this Thursday. Thanksgiving Day, at 10 a.m.
Joining host minister Rev. Peter Weems will be Rev. James Price of Macedonia Baptist. Rev. Steve Scoggin of Washington Baptist. Rev. Jennings Hobson of Trinity Episcopal. Rev. Ronald Wiley of Reynolds Memorial Baptist. Catholic priest Maurice Du Castillon and Catholic deacon Jim Bayne.
A combined choir representing various churches in the county will perform also.
The ecumenical service is an annual event. Its essence, according to Mr. Weems, is to provide the entire community with an opportunity to come together and give something to God in thanks for life abundant.
