Math Anxiety
Math anxiety will be the topic of a mini-clinic offered Dec. 2 to the public at Germanna Community College.
The one-hour mini-clinic is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be repeated at, 7 p.m. Designed to help anyone who fears or avoids mathematics, the session is directed toward those from high school students through adults.
The mini-clinic will feature a half-hour film titled Math Anxiety: We Beat It. So Can You! Following the film, participants will discuss their attitudes toward math from psychological and mathematical perspectives.
Discussion leaders will be GCC assistant professor of psychology Nancy J. Bedford and GCC assistant professors of mathematics Yoytha C. Whitten and Daniel E. Ross.
