The SWCB has earmarked $1,417,000 from EPA for Sperryville’s sewer project in fiscal year 1983. if the money is available. That would fund construction costs at the 85 percent level for the collection system and the 75 percent level for the package treatment facility.
There is also the possibility that the county could win additional grant money over and above that from EPA.
WSA member Donald Gore noted earlier in the meeting that Rappahannock can get as much as $750,000 from the new community block grant program, according to John Capelle of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission. “That's a direct, non-repayable grant in addition to anything else we get...With it. we could possibly get 100 percent funding (for the sewer project),” Gore said.
Deimer agreed that community block grants offer the only viable source of additional funding available currently. If the WSA borrowed the local share of construction funds from the Farmers Home Administration at 12 percent interest rates, it would need
