reennstea ana spent tnree years at i Schofield Bks., Hawaii and became Desk Sergeant of the M.P.’s at Schofield. Schofield had 1S.000 soldiers and about 2,500 civilians at that time.
I was discharged in Oct. 1925, ran a grist mill and a store near Sperryville. Later I took a civil service exam and spent 22 years with the Bureau of Prisons, Dept, of Justice. There I did obtain the rank of Lt. In 1953 I transferred to become Postmaster of Colonial Heights, Va. I was in that position for 3 years, retiring" June 30th, 1956. For six months following I was selected to be host at the Blandford Church, at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va.
All my Army service was as a regular and was used towards my retirement. You know where I am making my home, with my wife who is also a native of Rapp’k Co. and my youngest son. Geo., Jr.
