Turner
Gifton Edward “Tippy” Turner, 63, of Huntly died Sunday. December 21, 1981 in Winchester Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the TurnerRobertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. John Pendleton. Burial was in the Brooks Family Cemetery, Huntly.
Mr. Turner was born at Huntly, March 17. 1918, son of the late William M. and Sarah Russell Turner. He was a veteran of World War II. serving with the U. S. Army.
Surviving are two daughters, Josephine Hughes of Takoma Park, Md. and Sarah Turner of New York City: two brothers. James Turner of Mt. Rainier, Md. and Charles Turner of Washington, D. C.; six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Noce
Mrs. Mildred Wilson Noce, 87, of Sperryville died Dec. 19. 1981 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Lt. Gen. Daniel Noce who died in 1976.
A native of Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Francis A. and Emily Newcomb Wilson. The Noces came to Rappahannock in 1954 and purchased the old Hughes farm at Laurel Mills (now the Fannon property) where they lived for 12 years. They then built a home on the large farm they bought at Rediviva. east of Sperryville.
Mrs. Noce was a member of the Rappahannock County Garden Club.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Noce of Royal Oak, Mich.; two sisters. Mrs. Robert L. Cavanaugh of Baltimore. Md. and Miss Mary Hassler Wilson of Washington. D. C.; two granddaughters. Mrs. Barbara Jolly and Miss Ruth Noce.-'•both of Washington, Va.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Mission in Washington. Va. conducted by Father Maurice DuCastillon. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery on Monday at 11 a.m.
