People—the wealthy and the not so wealthy—have given what they could. Donations from around the county range from $9 to $25. One Rappahannock couple contributed $200. Another large contribution came from the Rock Villa Mission in Sperryville. Businesses have helped as well. George Kettle from Century 21 in Vienna sent $500 for Christmas baskets for needy families.
“We’ve never had anything like this before,” Mrs. Davis said.
This is the true Christmas spirit. It’s alive and burning bright in Rappahannock this year.
