Home Surgery — A Real Hazard!
Many people perform a type of "home surgery" on themselves for a variety of reasons. They feel that they would prefer to do it themselves as the doctor hurts more. They feel that the medical costs today are too high. They don't need a doctor when they can do it themselves.
There are many dangers in this type of thinking. Most important of all patients cannot diagnose their illnesses or the adequacy of their circulation, two factors which are very important in healing Secondly, they cannot repair an ingrown nail or other problem as adequately or correctly as a physician. Lastly, they are not using sterile instruments despite the fact that they use disinfectants or alcohol. Home disinfectants do not kill all forms of organisms.
Remember, they are the only feet you have — don't abuse them.
