Estabrook said he will develop a “differentiated system” broken down into categories for administrators, different ranks of teachers (classroom, library, guidance) and non-professional employees, including aides, bus drivers, cafeteria workers and custodians.
He emphasized that the system will have follow-up procedures aimed at remedying any problem areas uncovered in the evaluation.
In a piece of good news, Estabrook informed the school board that an inspection of the high school shop by OSHA representatives last week found it in complete compliance with all safety regulations.
Two Closed Sessions
Early in the meeting, the board retired to executive session for I'/j hours to consider a 20th District Court case. Upon return to open session, chairman Massie reported only that "the superintendent needs additional information from the state before the board makes a final decision."
Following a second executive session lasting from 11:05 p.m. to 1:40 a m.. Mrs. Massie reported that the board had turned down an enrollment request on the grounds that the individual wasn't a resident of the county and that the superintendent will discuss pending litigation with the commonwealth's attorney.
