To the editor:

Supplementing your report of the last meeting of the Board of Supervisors in which the landowners complained about the hunting problem, I thought your readers might be interested in the followup of my situation.

The case against the trespasser, caught with a loaded rifle on my land with a dead deer at his feet, was dismissed.

Why was it dismissed? It is the general procedure that the complaining witness sets the time for the hearing in his warrant.

No law enforcement officer being willing to do anything in my case. I was forced to obtain this warrant. While doing this, the game warden permits the trespasser to depart with the deer, but then changes the date of the hearing so that when the case is called neither I nor my witness is present.

What makes the situation even more farcical is the fact that the game warden specifically refused to make himself part of the case and was a witness to none of the charges.
