WSA chairman Carson Johnson added that early spring would be the best time to hold the hearing. "People get clean-up minded then.. It's important that we have the right attitude going into this."

At the suggestion of member James Leake, the WSA agreed to send copies of a resolution from last month's meeting to the zoning administrator and health department.

The resolution came in response to a request from Arthur Smith, owner of the old Rappahannock cooperative ’ in Sperryville. Smith wanted approval to use the co-op's septic field for a building on the property that was not previously connected. He had approached the health department for permission but was directed by sanitarian Jack Lockhart to the Water and Sewer
