The girls from little "single A” Rappahannock edged out the “double A’’ Wildcats from Warren County High, 58-56, in a dual meet at Front Royal last Friday afternoon.

The Wildcats managed to win just a single field event as Marie Davis and Terry Williams took first and second in the discus and Mary Jordan and Davis finished first and second in the shot.

In the long jump, Kathy Davis covered 14’8" for first with Rayhetta Gheen leaping 14’23/«” for third place. Ann Tupper and Kelly Bristol both cleared four feet in the high jump to tie for third.

The Lady Panthers swept the hurdles: Kim Williams first in 17.6 seconds, Darlene Call second in 19.3 and Kim Burke third in 20.5.

Williams also ran a leg of the 880 relay team along with Gheen, Kathy Davis and Cristol Porter as the RCHS contingent crossed the line ahead of the Wildcats in 1:54.9.

With Renee Ellis taking Williams' place in the 440 relay, the Lady Panthers continued their winning
