“The people hold you responsible for what the school board does,” Sharon Kilpatrick told the supervisors, noting that it’s been two years since county voters overwhelmingly endorsed a change from school board appointment by electoral trustees to appointment by the board of supervisors.
She pointed out that there are no funds in the proposed 1982-83 budget for improvements to the high school. In addition, she said, the school board recently made a "very unpopular” decision to demote high school principal Dennis Wingfield from the post he’s held for the past 16 years.
