The sun was shining, the crowds were cheering and the guys were smiling last Wednesday at RCHS as Rappahannock’s boys track team swept to the first win of the season, tallying 72 points to 43 for Manassas Park and 48 for Luray.
The Panthers put together a sweep in the 100 meters with Eugene Grigsby, Jeff Porter and Glenn Fletcher finishing one-two-three. Grigsby and Porter also took first and fourth in the 220 in times of 24.5 seconds and 2b.4 seconds.
Scott Keithley and Ronnie Atkins turned in fine performances in the distance events, finishing first and second in the mile and first and third in the two miles.
