Blackwater Hosts Open House
An Open House to celebrate the completion of Blackwater Homestead will be held on May 2 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Blackwater Homestead is an innovative solar energized project designed for three families in their retirement years.
Sam Cliffton and Ken Ritvo, who designed the house and supervised its building, will be present.
Sid and Margaret Gottlieb and Bob and Sylvia Gowell, Blackwater’s present occupants and owners, will be the hosts and all interested area residents are most welcome.

There will be a meeting of the Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary at 7:30 at the home of Peggy Ralph on Monday, May 3.
Historical Society
* Hosts “SHow And Tell”
The Rappahannock Historical Society will have an historical “Show and Tell” at its quarterly meeting, Friday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historical Society building on Gay Street, next to the Clinic in Washington, Va.
Members and other interested guests are encouraged to bring items of family memorabilia, said society president Helen Holschuh.
Do you have a letter from your Civil War grandfather? Or a clock that great-grandmother carried with her to the West? Perhaps an old sword...a minnie ball...a diary...or a scrapbook. Whatever you have of historical interest in your family should be brought to the meeting on May 7th. Everyone will be given a chance to share his personal bit of family history. There will also be an election of officers. Annual dues of S5.00 are now due.
