Dr. Banks commenced running three years ago and several months ago he placed 38 in approximately 3.000 entries at the Richmond Marathon. He says that running was the answer in finding an exercise he could do on a continual, consistent basis. He now spends about two hours a day running.

Banks believes there is therpeutic value in running and that runners deprived of such exercise may sutler a wave of depression. "There are chemicals in the brain that govern our mood and physical exercise is a potent stimulas in the production of these chemicals," he says.
