At Monday's presentation of the preliminary county budget for 1982-8.1, accountant Wally Cox told the supervisors that he had included an appropriation of $10,000 for architectural design work on jail renovation.
Cox gave what might have been the final push necessary to convince the board that jail facilities should be provided in Rappahannock.
