Tennis Time
Approaches
It’s that time of year again when Rappahannock tennis buffs start perfecting their serves, lobs and backhands in preparation for the annual county tennis tournament sponsored by the Rappahannock Recreation Association.
This year’s categories include men and women’s singles (A and B division in women’s singles), men and women’s doubles, mixed doubles and junior singles.
The tournament is open to all residents and landowners in Rappahannock, people who work in the county and students who attend school here. Entry fee is $3 per entry per person plus a new can of tennis balls for each entry.
All entries and fees must be submitted by May 21 to Diane Bruce at the clerk’s office or Jean Lillard at the Flint Hill Store. Finals will be held June 25, 26 and 27. Play will be best two out of three -sets; in the event of a 6-6 set, a nine point tie breaker will determine the outcome.
