The program will be designed to meet the needs of the economically disadvantaged youth among which are:
1. meaningful, structured and well supervised work to improve the work habits and work skills of youth.
2. opportunities to explore vocational interest through vocational exploration components in private and public sectors.
3. vocational counseling and occupational information.
4. providing income to participants who without assistance could be unable to return to school.
5. employment and training for youth with special employability needs.
6. services which will induce and aid drop-outs in returning to school.
7. avenues for securing short-term subsidized employment which will lead to permanent full-time unsubsidized employment for youth where return-to-school is not expected.
