Wakefield School’s annual Spring Horse and Pony Show will be held May 29 at the 4H grounds near Marshall.
Organized by Wakefield parents Mrs. William Corddry of Hume and Mrs. David Moreman of Front Royal, the show is a member of the short circuit and is open to all junior exhibitors 18 and under.
Events will begin at 8 a.m., rain or shine. Thirty classes offer the area’s young riders an opportunity to prove every level of skill.
Standard classes range from a beginner’s lead line class, to a challenging bareback over fences class.
Fun classes include a jelly bean race for beginners, a Gambler’s Choice open jumping, and a costume class.
(One of last year's costume class winners appeared as a disc jockey. The young horseman wore jockey’s silks
his mount wore records.)
