The Tigers went on to down the Rappahannock Monarchs 7-4 in Sunday’s home opener. Coach Sam Aylor attributed the win to the clutch hitting of Pops Aylor, Nils Aylor, Ernest Dennis, David Thornhill and Cecil Smoot and the fine pitching of Cecil Smoot. Aylor said, “We have a good team. We’re going to win some and lose some this year. ” The next Tiger game is May 16 in Winchester.
