Washington’s Masons are planning a work day at the Masonic Cemetery just outside the town on May 20 and 21 and are looking for help from community residents in cleaning up plastic flowers and vases scatted over the grounds and in clearing brush and weeds.
Several truck loads of artificial flowers have been dumped to one side of the cemetery that has now grown up in briar bushes and shrubs and must be removed, according to the Masons. Prices for family plots in the cemetery have been kept very low, too low to pay for hired help, so the effort depends on volunteer labor.
